A new study in the journal has found that Viagra’s makers, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, have a far higher rate of side effects than some of the other erectile dysfunction medications used by men in their 80s and 90s.
The study, a meta-analysis, found that Viagra’s makers had a higher rate of side effects than other drugs used to treat the condition.
Dr. Reddy’s, a leading maker of the drug, said the study was not a randomized trial but rather a scientific study.
The study included more than 1,000 men, mostly men over the age of 50, with erectile dysfunction. Researchers randomly assigned each participant to one of the drugs, which were either Viagra or its generic equivalent, according to the researchers’ findings.
The men took a pill for erectile dysfunction for 10 days before the study began, according to the study’s researchers.
The researchers found that those who took Viagra experienced a statistically significant lower rate of side effects, such as backache, muscle aches, and headaches, compared to those who took the generic equivalent of the drug, which were not statistically different.
“Our findings suggest that Viagra’s makers have a relatively low incidence of side effects compared to other erectile dysfunction medications,” said Dr. Reddy’s chairman and CEO, Dr. Steven Nissen. “The fact that the Viagra’s makers are able to develop a treatment for ED with less side effects than the other drugs we examined may be encouraging, especially for those who may have other health problems.”
